Curriculum
Our curriculum has been developed to meet the needs of preschool children and to prepare them for Kindergarten. All activities are age appropriate and benefit the whole child. Our curriculum is designed around play based and nature based curricula. We also focus on gross and fine motor development, speech and language, and social skills . Each week children will also receive Integrated Arts including Music, Physical Education, Art, Library, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).

Play Based Learning
Children will engage in play based learning throughout the day during Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Integrated Arts. An example of play based learning would be practicing counting by counting the number of fruits in the basket while playing in our "grocery store."

Nature Based Learning
Most materials we will use at Sand Dollar Preschool are natural materials. We spend a good majority of the day outside and bring many components of nature into our classroom.

Academic Centers
Our day will be based around centers where children will get the opportunity to explore different components of academics in small or large groups.

Dramatic Play
The imagination is such a powerful tool for children and can create a world of difference for their overall development. Children will be able to explore different careers, take a trip to space, be explorers on a safari or scuba divers in the ocean! This center will offer them a chance to use their imagination in a fun and creative way.
